الْحَيُّ

AL-HAYY

AlHayy

(The Eternally Living One)

The Alive, The One attributed with a life that is unlike our life and is not that of a combination of soul, flesh or blood.

Allah is Al-Hayy, The One who is undying and will be forever. He is perfect and not subject to death or sickness. He is eternally whole and sound whom all life arises from.

Mentions From The Quran & Hadith

From the three letter root h-y-y, which has the following classical Arabic connotations: to live, to be living to become apparent, distinct to animate, to revive to vitalize, to call into being to be whole, sound to call, summon, invite, hasten.

Allah – there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. (Quran 3:2)

 اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ‎﴿٢﴾

 

Doc5

And [all] faces will be humbled before the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. And he will have failed who carries injustice. (Quran 20:111)

 ۞ وَعَنَتِ الْوُجُوهُ لِلْحَيِّ الْقَيُّومِ ۖ وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنْ حَمَلَ ظُلْمًا ‎﴿١١١﴾

And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die and exalt [Allah] with His praise. And sufficient is He to be, with the sins of His servants, Acquainted (Quran 25:58)

 وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى الْحَيِّ الَّذِي لَا يَمُوتُ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِهِ ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِهِ بِذُنُوبِ عِبَادِهِ خَبِيرًا ‎﴿٥٨﴾

 

Doc5 He is the Ever-Living; there is no deity except Him, so call upon Him, [being] sincere to Him in religion. [All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds. (Quran 40:65)

هُوَ الْحَيُّ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَادْعُوهُ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ ۗ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ‎﴿٦٥﴾
